next big thing

Hello.
I am absolutely elated to say that there are 19 more days until spring begins.
Is anyone else excited here?
I won't say the amount of days until summer (102) for it depresses me a tad.
HOWEVER, because of the lovely 54 degree weather today, I have been inspired to ready myself for the warm weather and hopeful of days in the sun.
So of course I have been browsing the world wide web in search of a great bathing suit.
Currently, I have been diggin' the one-piece look
Which still needs a "hot" bod to rock.
Shoot.
Anyway, here are my findings.

*all of the pictures of the girls wearing the swimsuit are from jcrew.com and the rest can be found on bluefly.com

*also some cute one-pieces found here

I have decided that the next big purchase I make is going to be a swim suit. I won't be hasty. If I find a swimsuit I like for under $100 you bet your bottom dollar I will get it. It's what I do. However, if needs be, I am putting some of that paycheck aside so I can purchase me one great suit.

Factoid Friday... pilfered.

(Pilfered = Stolen) I stole this idea from my BFFL cheadsz. She don't mind because really it's not like it's stolen, it's more like I thought she had a really great idea. This is where entrepreneurs come from. What? Ok.

1. I hate returning stuff to stores. I don't know why. I just am uncomfortable about it.
2. Almost every time I come home from work my house smells like someone ALMOST burnt it down. Apparently, we need some cooking lessons up in this kitchen.
3. I have a little bit of an attitude tonight so this post may seem "snarky." Google that.
4. I am attempting to avoid the tanning bed for the rest of my life. We will see how that works out. Also, going to try to start using an eye-cream. Awesome.
5. I change out my pillowcases every other day.
6. Still doesn't help my sensitive skin and my breakouts.
7. Spoon Me didn't have the cheesecake topping I wanted and it made me upset. I almost threw my cup of frozen yogurt at the girl behind the counter but refrained because I guess it's not her fault...
8. Kirk dared me to have a conversation with him without asking any questions. I quickly failed within the first 2 seconds.
9. Surprisingly, some of Shade Clothing's ugliest items have been selling much better than its more fashionable pieces. This causes me to wonder.
10. I spent 2 hours tonight watching VH1's top 100 Music's Most Shocking Moments. That's how I roll.
11. (For kicks) Possibly thinking about getting a new bedspread. Can't decide if that is a necessary purchase or not. Thoughts?

What are your Friday Factoids?

oh man...

This picture is awesome. It brings joy to my soul.

Although I only have one job and have a pretty set schedule, lately I have been feeling so incredibly drained. I'm not even going to school or have a kid or even have this crazy hobby that is keeping me busy!
It probably has something to do with the fact that I go to bed at 2am and have to wake up at 7:30am but, that's all speculation.

Alls I'm saying is that it's almost the weekend.
And so now, I think I can get through tomorrow.

Any fun plans?

Here I am. Were you looking for me?
I am found.
Sitting here with Diet Dr. Pepper in hand.
Enjoying some Sara Bareilles (she reminds me of my sisters).
Doing computers. (That's what I call anything that I do on computers. ie. blogging, facebooking, tumblring etc.)

Thinking about summer.
Can't wait.
Even though I'm sure I won't have much free time to bask in the sun, darken that skin.
Get some cancer. Kirk is a cancer. I am too. That is neat-o.
But maybe I will get that happy-hour drink from Sonic. Oh yeah...

I want to start baking. That is one of the things I have been itching to do. I want to bake breads, cakes, cupcakes, pies... everything.
I want to cook more too. I have been spending countless hours looking at cooking blogs getting amazing ideas to put into my little recipe box. I have a recipe box. It is "Martha Stewart blue" and has only about 10 recipes in it right now. I don't want to put any new recipes in it until I KNOW it's good. Weird how everyone has different taste buds, huh.
I would also enjoy my very own brick pizza oven right in my very own kitchen. A girl can dream.

Anyway, my life has been pretty pleasing. Contentment is the word that comes to mind.

Also, I'm planning a fun trip to Cal-eye-forn-eye-A for Mr. Ouimet's 26th.
Shhhh...
Yeah, you can refer to me as a sugah mommah. All my friends do... haha
Any good ideas of things to do? Places to eat. Places I must go to? Things I must do?

Much love.

kirk.

This is Kirk.
He likes to hang out with me.
I like to hang out with him.
Sometimes we play.
Sometimes we watch movies.
Sometimes we eat.
Sometimes we rest.
Sometimes we do computers which is currently my favorite pass time.
I do tumblr. He does coding.
I do blogging. He answers emails.
I do stumbleupon. He continues to code.
You see the balance we have here?
It is a nice one. And I like how we can enjoy ourselves while we enjoy each others company.
It's the yin and the yang.
And that my friends, is why I like him so oh oh.

Bachelorette

Ok... I heard that Ali from this season of the Bachelor is going to be the new Bachelorette.
It's not that I hate the girl. I just don't like to watch her. I find her whiny and annoying.
And always always a mess.
I probably won't watch. I am not really a fan of the Bachelorette except for miss Jillian. She was fun to watch and had a stellar personality.

Does anyone feel the same way here?

sick and things.

Hello friends and family alike.
I'm sad to say that I have been feeling a bit under the weather the last few weeks. It's not good.
It all started with my sinuses. Then a massive sore throat. I thought I had strep throat. When that dissipated, major sinus headaches followed by yet another sore throat. What is wrong with me? I have been living off of ib profin and DayQuil. I may overdose, I mean who really knows.

Since I have been so sick, I have decided to treat myself to something nice. A new purse. I have been needing one SO bad and I thought to myself, "Yes, I will get one." I am not a bag person... Don't get me wrong, I love me a lovely purse. I just don't buy a million of them. I buy one and stick with it 'til the end. Until it cannot be used any more. I mourn over that bag and then I get a new one. (Can you tell I'm trying to justify my purchase?) I buy a new purse like every 3 to 4 years. So, I go big.
I love it. It's versatile (it's gold) and so spacious and best part? It's made of nylon so I can just whisk away any dirt or spillage that comes my way. So pretty.

Also, thank you for your makeup tips! They have been a real big help! I am testing out a few things and products and I will let you know the final result of my findings.

it wasn't long enough.

I'm back!
I have to say that I had an AMAZING time in Vegas and got to spend some much needed time with Kirk-face. :)

I am lame and seriously took, zero pictures. But, I guess it just is proof that we were too busy having fun than pausing to take a picture or two.
Let me just tell you some of the highlights:

- The drive. Kirk set up camp in the back seat with his computer, headphones and blankets and pillows while cousin Rachel and I drove straight to sin-city blasting music and singing at the top of our lungs. We may or may not have had sore throats the next day. Totally worth it.
- the HOTEL ROOM. Oh. My. Gosh. When we first walked into the room, the curtains opened, the lights turned on and the TV turned on... classy and high tech. Great combo.
- The weather. Let's just say 68 degrees is perfect.
- Breaking even. Although there were only small bits of gambling involved, we managed to break even and getting a night for FREE. Yes, friends. F-R-E-E.
- The food. Enough said.
- HD television. Yeah, that's right. I spent time in the hotel room watching TV. It's what I like to do when I vacation. It's not really my thing to have a huge schedule. I like to lounge and do pretty much nothing and answer to no one.
- Cirque Du Solei's "O" show at the Bellagio. Mrs. Barnes, you are right. Definitely bucket-list worthy. Every moment was absolutely A-MAZING. Perfect ending to a great trip.

Oh yeah, and a lovely Valentine's Day surprise. Couldn't have been better!

Vegas Bound

Hello dear dear friends.
I am so excited to inform you all that I will be on a wee trip this weekend to the lovely city of Las Vegas! I am so excited to just get out of Provo for a while and not have to worry about ANYTHING for the next few days. Ahhhh vacations. Seriously love them.

I have been finding a lot of things that I want to let you all know about.
First and foremost is this A-MAZING stuff called Morrocan Oil.
Sounds like cooking oil... but it's NOT.
It is for your hair and it is seriously heaven sent. My lovely friend Trudy introduced this to me a while ago and I have finally just started to use it! It makes my hair smooth, shiny, silky and healthy. Just today I received a compliment on how "luminous" my hair was. And I shall gladly credit that to Morrocan Oil. Although the tiny 2 oz. bottle was a whopping $14, I still stick to my guns and say that it is totally worth forking over the moolah. I have been using mine daily for the last 2 months and I still have over 2/3 of the bottle left.

Next, I would like to introduce you to the utterly stylish skinny belt made by none other than Shade Clothing. At first, I was skeptical about how skinny these skinny belts really are. (They are about the width of my pinky finger.) However, after weighing all the options, these belts are fabulous! I love the way a skinny belt makes you look dainty and sophisticated and well put together. It doesn't squeeze or hug too tightly and it's not super bulky for the upcoming spring season. They come in a variety of different colors and I would even recommend using more than one belt at a time! And not to mention these babies are a mere $10.50. Really a must-have. Find them HERE.

Those are just a few of my findings. I have many, many more to mention but, I am tired and have much to do before leaving tomorrow. I also am thinking about deleting my facebook. No point really. We will see. Any thoughts on the matter?
Also, I have been on a hunt for a great makeup foundation. I have been using Bare Minerals for the last 4 years and I think it's time to switch it back to liquid... mostly for coverage and the fact that I like the look of a flawless face. Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate!

More to come soon!
Au Voir!

loved it.

Saw THIS movie tonight.

With this girl.

Loved it... Love her.

Seriously, I really enjoyed this movie. I will not ruin it. All in all, a great experience. Ah, so good.

Tom's

I finally got my Tom's in the MAIL today!
I picked grey for multiple reasons.
Mostly because they are neutral and I can wear them with just about anything... maybe even possibly my grey jeans. YES.
I LOVE THEM.
They are comfy AND casual.AND for every pair purchased, Tom's donates a pair of shoes to a child in developing countries.
So not only am I getting a pair of shoes, but so is someone else. Who needs them.
What a concept.

But, now that I am thinking about this... I kind of want THESE gold ones too! They are a little bit pricier (and by a little bit, I mean, WHAT??!!) than the plain grey canvas shoes however, I think gold is coming back into style this spring/summer and so, what better way to accessorize than on your feetsies. Right?

I like...

thoughts.

So tomorrow is the first day in a long time that I don't work until 3pm!
This only means I get to sleep in until 2pm :)
KIDDING... noon.
This also means I can go to 7-11 right night and get me some Diet Coke.

Anyway, I have been thinking a lot lately. Being really introspective. There has been a lot going on in my life lately. Some good, some not so good and I am slowly - but surely - learning new things about myself. I tend to block out the not so good things from my daily thoughts. I don't like to dwell and be sad. This I heard, is bad... According to Dr. Drew. If he was here, he would ask me "how does that make you FEEL?" And I would simply say, it makes me FEEL nothing. Nothing except WHY ME?! And then... then, I came across this quote:

"We have no right to ask when sorrow comes, 'Why did this happen to me?' unless we ask the same question for every moment of happiness that comes our way."

-Unknown

Humbling. I should be grateful for the positive things in life. And remember how lucky I am and say "why ME!?" as in, why would someone like me deserve such great moments? Let's look on the bright side here. However, I am realizing that it is pretty difficult to understand and fully appreciate the good without a dose of the bad. This is where Dr. Drew comes back into play. If I am choosing not to feel the bad, then I am choosing not to feel the good. So, not only am I going to be grateful for the good, but also for the bad. Because you can't have one, without the other.

it's about time.

Hello friends.
We are friends right?
Good.
I ran today for the first time in like... forever.
Seriously, I can't remember the last time I ran.
I can't remember the last time I worked out!
At any rate, seriously, at any rate (the rate of a one-legged turtle. They fast.), I am proud of my accomplishment of getting up off my BUTT and doing something good for myself.
I would like to thank Shea for that. She has been asking me to work out with her and has even had 24 Hour Fitness calling me telling me Shea has left me a pass to come work out.
What a gem.
Finally, after several times I said no, I said ok, I WILL.
So I went.
I ran for 2 miles. Walked for a half mile. All within 25 minutes. I have absolutely NO idea if that is good, bad, average... I just know it's more than I thought I could do. Mostly because I get tired from walking from the parking lot to the gym. Seriously.
I think I could have gone further but my poor little weak leggies were turning into jell-o. I am totally going to be paying for it tomorrow.
NONETHELESS, I shall be back tomorrow. Running.
And it feels good.
